Henderson Nevada Business Networking Breakfast Features ...

Network breakfast to include update on 2013 legislative session

HENDERSON, Nev. ??The Henderson Chamber of Commerce will host a network breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, at the Wildhorse Golf Course ? located at 2100 W. Warm Springs Rd in Henderson.

The breakfast will feature a legislative update, provided by guest speakers Scott Muelrath, HCC president and CEO, and State Sen. Stan Olsen, former representative for Nev. District 12, president of Olsen Strategic Group LLC and a member of the chamber?s board of directors.

RSVPs, which are required, must be made by Friday, April 12. The cost is $20 for members and $40 for non-members. There will be an additional $10 fee at the door. Cancellations must be made by the RSVP deadline to receive a refund. Guests can RSVP at?http://www.hendersonchamber.com/events/.

Olsen is the president of Olsen Strategic Group LLC, an issues advocacy company specializing in local, state and federal issues. A 36-year member of the law enforcement community, he headed the legislative operations for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Nevada Sheriffs? and Chiefs? Association for 12 years.

After retiring in 2007, Olsen spent two years as the Nevada chief of staff and the D.C. chief of staff for U.S. Congressman Jon Porter. In January 2010 he was appointed to the Nevada State Senate, serving out the term vacated by a retiring member, and in May 2011 he was again recruited, this time by Congressman Joe Heck to be his Nevada Director of Nevada?s 3rd Congressional District.

Muelrath became the Henderson Chamber?s president and CEO in 2011. A long-time chamber volunteer, member, Board of Directors member and Henderson Chamber Foundation board member before his appointment, Muelrath has been involved in the Henderson business community since he moved to Southern Nevada in 1991.

Prior to his work at the chamber, Muelrath was the general manager of the Galleria at Sunset, where his intimate understanding of the local community helped lead the 1,051,000-square-foot-complex to a 20 percent increase in sales per square foot ? a key health indicator in the industry. Before that, he also worked for a local real estate developer and various real estate holding companies.
