BERLIN (AP) ? German carmaker Volkswagen moved Saturday to strengthen its strategic focus to expanding sales in China, while reshuffling the leadership of its truck business.

Volkswagen AG's supervisory board approved the creation of a new position on its board of directors managing all business related to China. Europe's biggest carmaker ? which includes Volkswagen, Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, Skoda and Bentley ? said in a statement the move "reflects China's importance as the world's largest car market."

The company sold 2.3 million cars in China last year, resulting in a ?2.6 billion operating profit. "We want to further increase our pace there," said Volkswagen group chief executive Martin Winterkorn.

Amid mostly flat sales in Europe, German carmakers have become increasingly dependent on Chinese demand. China is Volkswagen's single largest market, and an important growth driver. It is the third-largest market for Daimler AG and its Mercedes Benz cars, while for BMW AG, the Munich-based maker of luxury cars and SUVs, deliveries in China recently overtook those in the United States.

Volkswagen said after Saturday's board meeting that its new China department will be run by Jochem Heizmann, who leaves his position as the head of the group's truck business.

Heizmann will be succeeded by the chief executive of Sweden-based truck manufacturer Scania AB, Leif Ostling, whose position goes to Scania board member Martin Lundstedt.

Volkswagen only recently took majority stakes in Scania and Germany's MAN, making Ostling's main job now to strengthen cooperation between the two companies and Volkswagen's own utility division to make the business line more profitable.

Volkswagen group CEO Winterkorn hailed the internal management reshuffle as a major step in boosting the group's competitiveness.

"At the same time, we are now further intensifying knowledge transfer and management links within the group. That is how we can leverage synergies and consistently harness growth opportunities ? to the benefit of each individual brand and the group as a whole," he said.

In other decisions Saturday, the Wolfsburg-based group said the CEO of the company's high-end brands Bentley and Bugatti, Wolfgang Duerheimer, will join Audi as its new head of technical development department.

Most of the management appointments ? 30 in total ? will come into effect in September, it said.

Volkswagen reported in April that its first quarter net profit rose to ?3.19 billion from ?1.71 billion as revenue grew by a quarter to ?47.33 billion. The company's earnings were also boosted by big profit on financial items stemming from share options related to the company's attempt to fully integrate sports car maker Porsche.

Volkswagen has some 500,000 employees worldwide and sold about 8.3 million cars last year. The company hopes to sell 10 million cars a year by 2018 and become the world's number one carmaker.

There's no denying the extravagant pleasures "Moonrise Kingdom" affords as an erudite wish-fulfillment fantasy of empowerment and autonomy.

If it's not as deft as his most adorable confections ("The Royal Tenenbaums," "The Fantastic Mr. Fox"), it's still got plenty to chew on and chuckle over for initiates in the Cult of Wes.

Last time out, in Fantastic Mr. Fox, Wes Anderson adapted a children's book by Roald Dahl. Now, in Moonrise Kingdom, he's made one of his own.

It's an adventure, a love story, a biblical allegory complete with approaching storm, a mash note to composer Benjamin Britten and a profoundly touching discourse on the needs of troubled children.

"Moonrise Kingdom" is Anderson's seventh movie, and it's the first since "Rushmore" that works from the opening shot to the final image.

It's a fable about what it feels like to be 12 years old and afflicted, from head to toe, by a romantic crush the size of a planet.

Moonrise Kingdom might be Wes Anderson's purest work yet -- a tender tale of longing and melancholy as seen through the eyes of a handful of people on an isolated (fictional) island off the coast of New England.

Anderson's most involving and sardonically funny movie since Rushmore (and maybe better).

Another great film from Anderson, and the beginning of a fantastic career for Hayward.

The adventurous circumstances and sensations of young love permeate Moonrise Kingdom.

It's the filmmaker's best piece of live-action cinematic art since 'Rushmore' and nicely joins 'Fantastic Mr. Fox' in his return to fine form. (Full Content Review for Parents also available)

Moonrise Kingdom feels like a culmination, like Anderson has been working towards this one movie.

Wes Anderson films are not so much directed as curated.

Funny and heartfelt in equal measure, "Moonrise Kingdom" is a top-to-bottom charmer and one of the most heartfelt peans to the power of young love that you will see anytime soon.

Has individual moments that are alluring to the eyes, but like the aforementioned dollhouse where Suzy lives, take a closer look inside and it becomes obvious how artificial all the parts are.

Who else can capture with such chilling accuracy that fragile period between childhood and disillusionment, the time when the novelty of true love overwhelms the heart with its immensity and futility?

If you can meet with realism and surrealism and treat those two impostors just the same, then yours are the movies and everything in them. I'm paraphrasing Emilio Estevez but I think you get the idea.

A true delight - a fun, clever, and, of course, whimsical tale about the days when love seemed worth running away from home over and getting a scout badge meant the world.

Anderson's most delightfully bittersweet live-action movie since The Royal Tenenbaums.

If you?re even mildly interested in personal finance, you should take a minute and read this article. Seriously, it?s really, really good and very unconventional. What?s not to love?

I wanted to suss out my feelings about the author?s points a little bit, both for the purposes of discussion with my readers and to sort out my own views on the author?s ideas. Here?s what I?ve come up with so far?

I agree with the author that:

1. We?ll always have obligations, even if we?re debt free. This is something I?ve never understood about the truly die-hard debt haters among us ? even if you?re debt free, you?ll still have bills. Let?s say you?ve paid off all debt, including your mortgage ? you?ll still have a phone bill, property taxes, utilities, etc. So debt freedom doesn?t equal financial freedom?exactly.

2. Finding opportunities to grow wealth is equally as important (if not more so) than reducing your debts. When people are new to personal finance, they often get so caught up in paying down their debts that they forget about the whole other side to the financial fitness equation ? saving and investing. I know that I have been very guilty of this in the past, so the article really made me get excited about ?fully funding my Roth IRA this year!

3. Paying off debt is the same thing as dieting ? it?s so focused on deprivation, that to most, it?s a total turn-off. ?Nuff said.

But I don?t agree that?.

1. You should forget about your debts. The author isn?t saying you should stop paying on your debts, just that you should stop obsessing about them and focus on building wealth. But I think that keeping your debts in mind is important, if only so that you don?t continue to add to them.

2. Debt is disconnected from building wealth. I get that paying down debt is completely different from investing and saving?at least as a financial act. One is about building up, the other is about paring down. But debt can significantly impact the cash flow with which you can save or invest. If you prioritize paying off debt first, you end up with a lot more money to do what you want with?like saving or investing. I guess I?m trying to say that the author of the article presents saving and paying off debt as if they?re completely separate, when they actually aren?t.

3. Going out of your way to avoid saying ?the D word? is helpful. This whole portion of the article was just silly and pointless.
